Immunisations

Help keep our kids safe

According to the Public Health Act, 1992, we have a responsibility to ensure that all children enrolled at the centre have approved evidence of immunisation status. Parents enrolling children into the centre must provide evidence of this status. Either a copy of your child’s blue book or a letter from your practitioner is sufficient. If no proof is shown and an outbreak of a vaccine preventable disease occur, then that child will be excluded (on the direction of the Public Health Unit) from the centre for the duration of the outbreak - fees are still payable. Child Care Benefit (CCB) cannot be claimed if evidence of immunisation is not shown.

Vaccination is not compulsory. Parents can elect not to vaccinate, however, children who have no documented vaccination, are not vaccinated or have had homeopathic vaccination are considered unimmunised and may be excluded on the direction of the Public Health Unit.
